We’ve been talking for years about video, and it’s inevitable this year. If your business isn’t using video you are definitely going to be seen as behind the curve.

I’m curious, over the last year, several platforms have come out, including Blab, Periscope and Meerkat. Do you think that this is the year of video because there are more tools available to people to create them or do you think because there are more tools, people are more willing to consume them?

Rather than having to go to YouTube, if I have Periscope, not only can I create video, but I can watch others.

We’ve had the statistics on today’s Blab showing 38 people have come in and out, yet you and I are the only ones on this video.

The tools that allow people to create them are also the tools that allow people to consume them. So, do you think that it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy?

Craig:

It very well may be. I think the answer to both questions is yes. I think that there is more video because there are more tools and I think there is more consumption of video because there is more video because there are more tools.

These tools are making it easier for everybody. YouTube required some effort. I have to record the video, then upload the video to YouTube, I have to add some text to it because SEO is important, which we talked about last week (How to Achieve SEO in your Video Descriptions). So there are lots of things that have to happen.

We are on Blab now, and have been blabbing for months, and every week it enables people to come and go as they please, it is mobile, they can watch it. I did a live Blab a few weeks ago from a location in West Palm Beach, Florida, and I was able to be there, and on Blab with my phone at the same time. It is just exploding the ability to create.
